We successfully installed Hikvision 4G Solar Camera at a real estate construction site in Bamburi, Mombasa. This solution is ideal for off-grid locations, providing 24/7 remote surveillance without the need for constant electric grid or Wi-Fi connectivity.
To ensure seamless operation, we also loaded Airtel data airtime, allowing the camera to transmit footage in real-time over the 4G network — perfect for monitoring progress and securing the site remotely.
The main challenge we faced was choosing Airtel airtime for internet connectivity. Unfortunately, the location had poor network coverage, which caused frequent buffering and affected the initial setup process. For better and more reliable connectivity, we recommend using Safaricom airtime in this area.
