Scope of Work

Challenges Faced During the Repair
Every repair project presents unique technical challenges. This Tudor apartment project was no exception.
1. Working Safely Along the Seaside Perimeter Wall
One section of the property faces the seaside and has a significant drop beyond the perimeter wall.
The inclined electric fence poles in this area required our technicians to work carefully at height while maintaining proper safety procedures to avoid accidents and ensure accurate installation.
2. Integrating the Existing Undergate Cable
The apartment already had an existing undergate cable that needed to remain operational.
Our technicians carefully connected the existing undergate cable to the newly installed fence wiring, ensuring continuous electrical protection across the sliding gate without interrupting the fence circuit.
3. Routing the Alarm Cable to the Siren
Integrating the siren and strobe light alarm system required running a new alarm cable from the energizers through an existing conduit.
The conduit route proved difficult due to limited space and existing cables.
After careful cable routing, the connection was successfully completed while maintaining a neat and professional installation.
4. Diagnosing Energizer Alarm Faults
Once the installation was complete and power was applied, both newly installed Voltrix energizers immediately entered alarm mode.
Instead of assuming equipment failure, our technicians carried out a systematic fault-finding process.
The entire fence circuit, earth system, gate connections and wiring were inspected until the source of the alarms was identified and corrected.
After resolving the fault, both energizers operated normally and the electric fence system was successfully commissioned.
Testing and Commissioning
Before handing over the project, our technicians carried out comprehensive testing to confirm:
- Correct operation of both Voltrix electric fence energizers.
- Proper fence voltage throughout the 80-metre perimeter.
